Heavy-duty tags are often fastened with a metal wire, which is a much stronger option than conventional stringing that can help tags withstand exposure in a range of adverse environments. 

DESIGNING A WIRED TAG

  • Galvanized steel wire on a tag is provided with unfastened ends, so that tags can be applied to objects by twisting the ends of the wire to immobilize the tag.
  • A larger eyelet is used for wired tags, the inner portion, or ‘barrel’, of which is 1/4″ I.D. (outer diameter) and of which the flange is 3/8″ O.D. (inner diameter).

We use galvanized steel wire to ensure that tags can withstand a lot of wear and tear, and all kinds of exposure. Paired with the proper selection of a tough substrate for the tag, wiring can help a tag survive in many adverse conditions.

Wired tags are frequently used in agricultural, industrial, and horticultural applications, for their ability to survive exposure. For tags that are exposed to weather, chemicals, or abrasion, wiring can help meet compliance standards.

For even more durability, a wired tag can also feature a metal eyelet. This can be particularly useful if the tag may be subjected to physical forces, repeated manipulation, or if it is in a high-use or high-traffic area.

Horticultural enterprises frequently make use of weather-resistant tags. These tags are frequently printed on a synthetic substrate, and typically use methods of attachment that are more resistant to weathering.
